During year 10 students will do three Investigative Skills Assignments (ISA). This will involve them
- Producing a table to place results
- Carrying out a set practical and collecting data
- Using the data to plot an appropriate graph
- Answering questions on the data in a written examination
- Answering questions based upon another investigation set within the written examination.
The ISA places great emphasis on knowing various terms and how to analyse data.
The following powerpoints from Keith Johnson (author of Physics for You, one of the textbooks we use) will be helpful to you in doing the ISA.
Only the highest marked ISA will be entered for the examination.
Six marks are also awarded during the year based upon how well students carry out practicals in the lesson. This mark is down to teacher judgement.
